A glimpse inside

A sample mission book

This is the kind of story Missionary Legacy composes — gathered, week by week, from real letters, photos, and memories. Yours will be entirely your own.

Part I · The Call

Set Apart

The night before he left, the family gathered in the front room — the same room where he had taken his first steps. Hands were laid upon his head, and a father’s voice, steady and certain, set him apart to carry a message across an ocean. He would later say he did not remember every word. He remembered the weight of the hands, and the feeling that he was being handed something he could not yet see the size of.

Part III · The People They Loved

A Table by the River

Brother Dara had been the hardest to teach and the easiest to love. For weeks he asked the same questions a dozen different ways, until one evening, over a shared meal beside the water, he simply went quiet. “I think I have always known this,” he said. “I only needed someone to come and say it out loud.”

They baptized him on a Saturday. In the photo from that day, no one is looking at the camera — they are all looking at him.

Letters from Home

What His Mother Wrote

“We fasted for you on Sunday — all of us, even your little brother, who lasted until about noon and then negotiated. We don’t always know what you’re carrying out there. But we carry it with you, every single day, from here.”

Part VIII · Coming Home

The Same Front Room

He came home to the room he had left from. The hands that set him apart were there to hold him again. He was quieter than he had been, and somehow larger — not older exactly, but more himself. The mission was over. The story, his family would soon learn, was only beginning to be told.
